Acts of Grace Project

Our Mission

Acts of Grace Project is on a mission to advance support for women and mothers by amplifying their lived experiences to inform and improve programs, policies, and systems of care. Through storytelling, community engagement, and advocacy, we elevate awareness of the importance of supporting women, because when women are supported, the positive effects ripple across children, families, communities, and future generations.

Our Approach

We approach our work through grace—listening to women, sharing their realities, and encouraging systems and society to respond with greater understanding, compassion, and action. We also foster connection among women through shared lived experiences and collective understanding.

Our Story

Founded by Natalie Leon, Acts of Grace Project was born from a life shaped by perseverance, purpose, and profound transformation—from losing her mother at a young age to becoming a mother herself later in life.

In 2021, Natalie welcomed her daughter, Grace, during the pandemic and experienced firsthand the lack of wraparound support across healthcare, childcare, workplaces, families, and society.

Motherhood deepened her awareness of the challenges many women and mothers face, and the gaps in support systems that too often keep them in survival mode rather than giving them the opportunity to thrive.

Acts of Grace Project was inspired by her daughter, Grace; dedicated to the memory of her late mother, Maria; and fueled by a commitment to creating a more supportive future for herself, other mothers, and generations to come.

WHAT WE DO

Partnerships

Through storytelling, community engagement, and lived experience insights, we help organizations better understand the needs of women and mothers, identify gaps in support systems, and inform more responsive programs, services, policies, and systems of care.

Storytelling

Through one-on-one interviews and narrative storytelling, we amplify the lived experiences of women from diverse backgrounds to inform and improve programs, policies, and systems of care.

Community Engagement

Through community conversations, storytelling circles, and advocacy-based engagement, we create opportunities for women to connect, share experiences, and help shape more responsive programs, policies, and systems of care.

Why Acts of Grace Project

  1. We center women's lived experiences in the systems, stories, and spaces that shape everyday life—so their voices help inform how programs, policies, and systems of care are understood and improved.

  2. Through storytelling interviews, community engagement, and shared learning, we identify recurring challenges, surface gaps in support systems, and elevate insights that can help inform more responsive solutions.

  3. We partner with organizations and community groups to integrate lived experience insights into programs, policies, and systems of care that better reflect the needs of women and mothers.

  4. Through storytelling, community engagement, and advocacy, we elevate women's experiences and help surface gaps across healthcare, economic opportunity, childcare and family support, housing stability, and community connection—so they can be meaningfully addressed.
